Tom Moser sculpts more than wood furniture
Posted on Mon, Dec 27, 2010
Tom has been sculpting furniture and working with wood for as long as he can remember. It wasn't until recently that he started working with a different medium, clay, in a more substantial way. In Tom's words, "Unlike wood, fashioning clay is both additive and subtractive ― correcting mistakes and editing are more easily done."

Tom started working on a sculpture, while spending the early winter months of 2010 in La Belle, Florida. His neighbor there inspired his first creation, Bella, named after their ideal setting.

Bella is a life-size replication of his neighbor, perched on a granite base and cast in bronze at a local forge. The bronze statue weighs in at 140 lbs and is suitable for interior or exterior placement. The bronze will develop a beautiful patina over time.

Tom's first prototype of Bella is located at his home in Maine, but he has since created a limited run of twenty that he is selling. Our showrooms in Los Angeles, Boston and Washington, DC are proud to each have the sculpture in their presence.
