Craft is all around us, giving pleasure as well as serving a function. It is inspirational as well as useful. It is the best representation of who we are as a culture. Craft is democratic -- broad enough to accommodate anyone who makes something or appreciates the handmade. In short, craft is us.
- From the Craft In America website

Ever since Tom Moser decided to forgo his tenured professorship at Bates College in 1972 and, along with his wife Mary, take a leap of faith in founding Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers, craft has been at the core of everything we do. That’s why we are especially drawn to the PBS series, Craft In America.

If you haven’t seen this series, we highly recommend that you check it out. In fact, what really intrigues us is that it is actually much more than just a TV show. In addition to the Emmy-nominated and Peabody Award winning television documentary which continues to produce new episodes on PBS, there is also a book, educational materials, study center in Los Angeles, and even a “virtual” exhibition that can be viewed online. The bottom line is that if you appreciate American craft like we do, you should check out this series.

There is a lot of interesting content on their website, we hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we have:

You can also view the three previously-broadcast TV episodes on the PBS website by using this link:
