Tune in to TLC on Friday, July 16th at 10 PM (ET/PT) for the premier of DC CUPCAKES, featuring our DC's Showrooms' neighbor, Georgetown Cupcake. (they are directly across the street, so we can vouch for the fact that they are a hotspot!)
Here is a little blurb from TLC on the new series: TLC's Summer slate just got sweeter with the arrival of DC CUPCAKES, the latest treat in the network's growing menu of food themed programming. Premiering with back-to-back episodes on Friday, July 16 at 10 PM (ET/PT), the six-part series follows sisters and business partners Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis as they run Georgetown Cupcake, a small cupcakery that they've transformed into a sweeping success.
Sophie and Katherine risked their life savings and traded high power careers in fashion and finance to pursue their passion for baking and their lifelong dream of opening a bakery. Armed with their grandmother's recipes and strong family support, the sisters opened Georgetown Cupcake on Valentine's Day 2008. To their surprise, the shop became an overnight sensation and now sells more than 5,000 cupcakes a day.
DC CUPCAKES shares the recipe to Sophie and Katherine's sweet success, following their journey as they navigate the challenges and rewards of building a booming cupcake business. Each half-hour episode goes beyond the frosting to capture the behind-the-scenes drama in their fast paced, family-owned bakery. From baking and decorating thousands of gourmet cupcakes a day, to meeting tight deadlines for discerning clientele, to securing large projects such as fundraisers, festivals and weddings, there is never a dull moment with this sister duo. Mixing in their Mother ("Mommy") -- who plays a big part in running the family business -- adds to the chaos and family drama. The other staff members are as colorful as their cupcake creations--their small workspace, sprinkled with the high volume of business, leads to family bickering and staff tension that has more icing flying through the air than on the cupcakes.

Many thanks to Joseph for the coverage on his CFT411 (Cabinet & Furniture Trends & Information) blog...it is always exciting and gratifying to read such a thoroughly well-done article by someone who clearly understands the kind of work we do! We've posted an exerpt below, and you can read the entire article HERE.
Hope you enjoy his article as much as we did!
As seen on CFT411.com...
"I'm in a strange sort of mood as I begin this blog. To tell you the truth, I'm a little ashamed of myself for not having written it quite some time ago. I have heard the name Thomas Moser many times as I have made my way through the woodworking world, but until just a few days ago I had never taken the time to find out what the shouting is all about. Well, sir! As it turns out Thos. Moser and Company is one of the most exciting furniture making companies I believe I have ever come across. For my tastes. And perhaps for yours as well.
"What Thomas Moser has done is extraordinary on a number of levels. The first is the design of the furniture itself. No, no, that's not it. The absolute first is having had the courage to begin the business at all. Moser was a tenured professor with a wife and four young sons in 1972 when he decided to turn his woodworking hobby into a business. In April 1973, with their first advertisement in Down East magazine, Tom and his wife Mary launched Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers. Flash forward almost forty years and we see a thriving business that employs 125 and is still growing, still designing and innovating, so now one clearly sees how inevitable it all was, right? Except that he surely had, as do we all, his many doubts and sleepless nights at the beginning of the endeavor. I certainly would have!"
